08.31.09taken when katie walked in my mindWe've had the best Bank Holiday - first we had breakfast at the Breakfast Club and then we wandered into town to see the absolutely brilliant "Walking in my mind" exhibition at the Hayward. 08.30.09taken when we didn’t go to carnivalNormally I'm well up for the soundsystems, red stripe, jerk chicken, £20 bags of oregano, significant risk of personal injury and impossible journey back East that is Carnival but we just couldn't get motivated today. Instead, we had a coffee on Broadway Market and went for a walk in London Fields. We're so old. Time for us to move to the suburbs I think: somewhere with good schools, a pub that doesn't play music and a bench near a pond with some ducks. 08.29.09taken when katie was in the grauniadWonderful news, WKW was featured in The Measure column in the Guardian Magazine today. You know, the bit that says what’s going up (i.e. cool) and what’s going down (Clapham). Turns out we’re Going Up. Unfortunately, it also says trousers tucked into socks is Going Down, which is pretty much what I wear every day (the socks are generally fluorescent ones too). So in the grand scheme of things, we’re neither up nor down on the week. C’est la vie. 08.28.09taken in the alleywayKatie's finally well enough to be able to leave the house and so we grabbed some healthy Vietnamese this evening and have now retired to the house to watch Fear and Loathing and drink Horlicks. We're both hoping for a very relaxing Bank Holiday which may or may not include a trip to TK Maxx (or the Burberry outlet store), a barbecue, some scrabble, some gin and another opportunity to attempt to begin Swann's Way for the 10th time. 08.27.09taken on housewifery thursdayKatie is so close to being over her swines that she's been able to busy herself with the feminine tasks of the household - namely, washing Joe's clothes, cleaning Joe's house and buying Joe a rack of lamb for his supper. She'll make someone a more than adequate wife one day (so long as she forgets about her silly little advertising career and is able to keep her womanly hysteria well in check). 08.26.09taken when katie saved a puppyHooray, the K is getting better! She still needs to take it easy but check it out - Katie's in colourful clothes again! And she managed to coordinate saving a wee puppy that almost fell out of the window of one of the houses on our street today. 08.25.09taken when katie was in marie claire SA (but still ill)My poor girl is still not at all well. On the plus side, I heard today that WKW has been featured in Marie Claire South Africa! How cool. If anyone in South Africa sees this, has a copy of Marie Claire and also has a scanner, any chance of a copy of the article - my email is joe@whatkatiewore.com. 08.24.09taken when katie got (a bit) betterKatie has been on the recuperation couch all day, sipping a little bit of soup and taking her medicines like a good girl. She's also got some throat sweets from the chemists with enough chemicals in to have a street value of several grand. I'm sure it won't be long until she's back to her old self, but for now this pic should please all the people that have emailed asking about whether Katie owns some trackie bottoms - and they're from Sainsbury's. Good enough to go to the bookies in. At least the scarf is from Liberty's.

08.23.09taken on sick sundayPoor Katie is still suffering so I've bought some flowers, partly to cheer her up and party to help disguise the fact that I'm dressing her and doing a piss poor job of it. I reckon it will be a day of sleeping and watching the cricket for us, which doesn't sound all that bad to be honest. If you're interested and can actually make out the clothes, Katie is wearing vintage sick girl lycra leggings, See by Chloe poorly dress and a sore throat silk scarf.

08.22.09taken when katie took tamifluOh dear, poor Katie. She wasn't at all well yesterday and, after checking the NHS website, we decided that maybe it was the dreaded swine. I've stocked up on Tamiflu just in case but after a day of really taking it easy, lots of vitamins, medicines, water and a tiny smidgin of tomato soup, we're hoping that maybe it's not quite as serious as we'd thought. Either way, it feels a bit cruel putting a picture of my poorly dear up on the internet, but she insists the blog must go on. Whatever happens, it will be a very quiet ...
