We’re back! And feeling extremely healthy after totally maxing it at the gym this morning – a 5k run, a decent go on the rowing machines and a little swim and sauna. Afterwards we went for a quick promenade along Brick Lane to find some food. A grubby anti-fur pinko seemed to consider saying something yobbish about Katie’s coat, but quickly reconsidered any contretemps after clocking my glistening guns. It’s vintage anyway – from Marcos & Trump. Katie’s wearing it with her Tommy Hilfiger cords, Zara poncho and Tabio big bow legwarmers. Must dash – helping the lady swap her wardrobes around. Yawn.

I had a run-in with an anti-fur person last year – I was wearing a vintage cream fake fur coat, which might have come from a 70s toy polar bear at a stretch. I was on my own, and actually found it quite distressing; especially the fact that someone could be so opinionated without even knowing the difference between real fur and nylon!
Katie looks so cool today! Oh dear, what a complete eeejiiiit to say that. Okay, so I’m not gonna lie, I don’t like fur and all that (faux fur is a goodie though) but I can’t resist not saying that Katie looks lovely today, simply divine! Loving the browns and reds xo
Love the outfit!! I wore my new asos tights yesterday they are white at the front and black at the black and someone was very rude about them whilst I was shopping some people dont understand fashion!! I love all your outfits kate you are very stylish.
hmmm. i love your site, but to be fair, there’s no need to wear fur when faux is clearly a good match nowadays. plus, it’s not like we need it to survive anymore. synthetic fabrics?

Those legwarmers are sooooooooo cute! A great lesson in effortlessly stylish layering from Katie here. I think the jacket looks fab although I’m not sure Id feel comfortable wearing real fur even if it was vintage, but each to his/her own. I’ve been eyeing up a vintage faux fur coat on ebay, but it never occured to me that it might get mistaken for the real deal and get me in trouble like Cat.
I had a couple of girls come up to me and comment on my fur coat on saturday night, while I was by myself, which was a bit scary. To be honest it has made me a bit paranoid about wearing it. I justify it because it is vintage, and I would never buy new fur. I know they are some great fakes in the shops this year, but they’re weren’t 2 years ago, when fur coats were cutting edge and not as mainstream and in fashion. Also the modern ones do not have the same vintage shape. People should live and let live! and I’m sure if they lived in Russia, where it is sometimes -40C they would not think twice about wearing it.
Its just my opinion but im a bit disapointed that Katie is wearing real fur whether its vintage or not! I thought katie was innovative and fashion forward…
katie looks good but wearing fur it’s just wrong, vintage or not. it still give the idea that id cool and fashionable where is not.

I’ve got quite a few fake furs, and the most realistic one is about five years old and from Miss Selfridge. No-one’s ever said anything about that one, but I have had a lot of comments on that cream vintage one, which is weird. Sometimes I think it’s just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it wouldn’t stop me wearing it. I do, however, have to sign a waiver every time I get it cleaned in case it falls to bits!
(I saw an absolutely fab camel-y coloured faux fur coat in M&S of all places today, but their sizes are dud for me – small is too wee and medium’s too big!)

Fur is good, fur is bad. Whatevs, innit. I like fur because its warm and strokey. But I also like furry animals (much for the same reason).
I guess the big question is what would Jesus wear? Yes? Who’s with me?

Animals are going to die one way or the other. I have some rabbit fur pants that come out over Christmas. Keeps my balls toasty.

Anti-fur pinko? Seriously? Love this blog and seeing Katie’s outfits but something still died and someone makes money from it by selling it on. Wear what you like but don’t be surprised if people look disgusted
