We cleared out the National Lottery coffers to the tune of tenner last night (which we promptly exchanged for Pinot Noir). The Christmas shopping is done and I’ve only got two more days at work for the year. And the ever-dapper George from Gilbert and George doffed his hat to me in Spitalfields earlier. All is well with the world.
It’s even been a little bit sunny here as well – here’s Katie stood in a sunbeam in a gorgeous new dress from Future Vintage, TK Maxx gilet, Sam Thomas boots and Christian Dior sunnies. And all of the fur is faux. Promise.

On the upside the fur is faux however outfit a little on the dull side for me and not enjoying the furry head ensemble either sorry!
Went to spitalfields yesterday for the first time and loved it.
Got some lovely art from smudge gallery and an extra cozy deerstalker from another lovely knick knack shop. Spent ages browsing in a vintage shop to the bemoans of my other half, but a Fab day. Then Oxford street which was hell on earth. Katie, you look Fab. I’ve loved they blog this year, and hope it continues forever, sorry Joe. I feel like I know you two like friends! Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2010 to you both x
like it. the head ensemble tres studio 54 cruise collection.
LOVE the dress. Gorgeous and versatile.
Iris Apfel would def approve.
Tell me Joe, does Katie remind u where she got each item of clothing or do u check the labels b4 writting or is bcoz u really know her that well?
I like the furry head ensemble. The vintage dress is cute too. I like the understaded-ish-ness of this outfit. Have a wonderful day! xoxo
Love the scarf and sunglasses with the dress!
I think it’s nice to see Katie working a more understated look, the fur looks very cosy.
I was in your neck of the woods yesterday, on Columbia Road buying holly and mistletoe for our flat, it was a lovely day. Feeling quite festive now!
Moved to comment after mean comments last week… Like your mum said: if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
If you have a problem with wearing fur (particularly long-dead fur) look carefully at your own shopping and eating habits before pitching in and bitching: I love wearing vintage fur and will only take criticism from strict vegans on the issue.
Katie, you look gorgeous.
nicely said madeline, but the comments bit is for just that – comments, and i’m sure both katie and joe understand that when you write a blog, you can’t just censor the good bits – you’ve put yourself and your style up there to be commented on – that’s the whole point.
i have a problem with real fur but i also realise some people don’t, and that’s their prerogative, and back in 90′s when i was less educated about fur, i was rocking around in my mam’s old grey rabbit coat (before grandma gave it to the salvation army by accident – another story altogether).
there’s a big difference between an animal being bred and / or killed for the fur and smart animal husbandry / an animal being bred for food and the skin being a by product of that and used for shoes etc. so many other issues around this, but it’s the festive season and all that cheer.
looking forward to today’s outfit.
Liking the psychedelic vibe the light and background are giving the outfit. The fake fur hat looks like a white 70′s Afro, it livens up what would be an otherwise fairly understated outfit.
Nicely said El!
I get the feeling Joe and Katie have a sneaky giggle at the debate it raises on the comments….If your gonna wear real fur its to be expected that you’re gonna get people who disapprove!! Just as Katie has the right to wear it people have the right to comment! Sometimes I find the reaction to the clothing is more intersting than the outfit!!! Im so gonna miss this site…Still not convinced its actually going to end!
Cheryl I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there – Katie and Joe must have known this would cause a bit of controversy on the site – and therefore more traffic.
I kinda like this – Katie looks like a mad version of Joan Collins LOL !!
