Scotland was cool. Coolest of all though – Michael Portillo was eating in the same restaurant that I had lunch in. He’s a very handsome man in real life and, although I couldn’t quite see, I would imagine he also has impeccable table manners. Sometime I worry that I’m going to run out of things to write about each day. And then I remember that I’ll always have casual speculation about how former Conservative ministers hold their forks, and everything is ok.
Now my largely redundant preamble is out of the way, I can tell you that today Katie is wearing a lovely Irwin & Jordan dress, her stunning Smythson handbag and utterly beautiful Kurt Geiger shoes – they’ve got some very cool man shoes at the mo that I’m thinking of purchasing once I’m less financially embarrassed.

Gorgeous! That bag is to die for.
i love this! where is the scarf/snood from please? x
What a divinely snuggable coat!
i love the hat and the shoes! – it looks gorgeous!!
Gorgeous hat and skirt! Love the vibrant red
I love this too! Where are the scarf and snood from please? I’ve got a red snood but it sheds fluff everywhere, Katie’s looks much better behaved!
Great outfit Katie, wish I was as adventurous, loved the piece in Pschologies mag. What i’d really like is a pic of your wardrobe, how do you manage to store it all!?!?!
I love the hat! I ordered a few millinery hoods to make hats, thanks for the extra inspiration, I think I will start this weekend!
LOVING YOUR WORK SISTER!!

I love the touches of red in the outfit! And that hat… wow. I have a similar looking one and never found an occasion to use it…
I’ve been eyeing those shoes ever since I first visited, I’ve even been to Ebay, but I don’t know if i’ve the guts to wear them… Gorgeous.
@Raptureponies
I say you should just get ‘em.

not to mention the coat, the scarf, the gloves, the SHOES.

Oh yes, yes, yes! The hat! What an ab-fab outfit. You look like a movie star.
This is so lady-who-lunches, but with a funky edge. I think my favorite part is the hat.
Joe, you make me laugh a great deal – WKW stands out in a sea of blogishness with the wonderful words and beauteous pictures! Love the red today, you look so pretty Katie!
Ps.Blogishness absolutely isn’t a word but I like how it sounds.
Oh Katie, this outfits a beaut! Definitely one of my favourites!
most definitely possibly almost certainly one of my fave outfits. love. it. lots.
Although I aime les garments, I find the bleating about being ‘financially embarrased’ rather tedious. If you can afford to lunch in any restaurant, let alone one in which you rub shoulders with proven toffs like Mikey P; then you are categorically not poor. I am poor. I take sandwiches to, walk home to save money and make most of my clothes. That is how the other half live.
eh I reckon Joe was on expenses in the posh Edinburgh restaurant!
fabulous outfit today Katie, one of the best! xx
this is beautiful outfit & that shade of raspberry is divine.
i have started a collection of outlandish nd vibrant tights over the last week and have been looking to you for an admirable way in which to approach them.
thankyou xo
@Ebola It’s all about the expense account, innit. Sorry if I’ve rubbed you up the wrong way. But, to be honest, I don’t think my pecuniary situation is up for discussion on the blog. More than happy to send you some of my bank statements though?
JX
Can’t believe I missed this yesterday – awesome!!! xxx
There’s a £15 Kurt Geiger voucher in this month’s GQ I believe.
wow! i love this outfit. i dont think there is a coilour you dont suit katie (: Xxx
