Funny story: so we’ve been checking all the guidebooks and many of the internets to work out what the Thai greeting is that the locals, staff, masseuses, etc. address us with several hundred times a day. Turns out they’re all saying “Guten Tag”. Either we’re staying in Bophut twinned with Dortmund or everyone thinks we look like Ze Germans. Not that we’ve got any problem with our Anglo Saxon cousins: Katie spricht fließend Deutsch and I’m well into Freikörperkultur. Just never thought we looked espesh German – must be because my Nietzsche is alway on the best sunlounger before sunrise and Katie’s annexed Malaysia.
