Good evening everyone, it’s me – Joe’s away from London on business so I’m home alone. But not for long; I’m up at the crack of dawn to go meet him in Rome for the weekend! I can’t wait!!

Still, it’s been nice to potter about the house tonight. I’ve had a lovely evening cooking a Nigel Slater veggie treat and flicking through housie magazines getting ideas for decorating. Now time to finish packing and get an early night before my flight. Today I’m wearing an asos floral jumper, vintage dress, orange Tabio tights and Kurt Geiger shoes.

We had some lunch and a pint at the clubhouse at Aberdour. Here’s Katie in the process of making an obscene gesture at me on the cliffside. What a charming young lady she’s turned out to be. Now we’re riding the Stella Express (actually, Chardonnay Express – we’re in 1st) back to Kings X.

Hope you’ve all had splendid, long, deeply relaxing weekends. I have. In fact, I’ve completely forgotten what it is I do for a living or where my offices are. I’ve a hazy memory that I maybe play piano in a brothel. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll just wander about likely looking establishments and ask if they recognise me.

It’s been a fair dreich day up in Scotland. We’ve been down to North Berwick with Katie’s kin to buy some kerry oot lobsters and have a beer with our pal Slack.

Now we’re back hame to pull up tha drawbridge, dry oot our breeks and git blootie in front of tha telly.

Today the missus is looking especially lovely on the cobbled street behind our gaff. She’s in an ASOS kaftan, Oasis jeans, Swedish Hasbeens from Sarenza and very awesome lulz socks from Rampant Sporting.

In other news, I’ve got a new blog innit. The nice people of that Huffington Post asked me to think of something sombre and serious to comment upon for their esteemed organ. And so naturally, I’m writing a regular restaurant review that critiques what people wear in eating establishments rather than what they consume. A blog to review diners rather than dinners, if you will. It’s called Wear I Ate Last Night. It could be quite fun. It’s almost definitely what my PhD tutor hoped I’d end up doing. Why not take a look and suggest somewhere seedy for me to review?

Katie had some lunch at Leon. I’ve had some beers in Bethnal. That’s the news for today.

I keep getting the most bizarre emails off the back of yesterday’s Guardian piece – some guy essentially just “came out” to me via email in the most unusual and possibly threatening way. I might look him up on Grindr – he’s probably a nice guy.

Anyway, aren’t Katie’s shoes rather awesome? They’re from Sarenza. The mac is from ASOS, the necklace is Jessica Dance necklace and the tights are Red or Dead.

Doesn’t Katie look especially radiant today? Must be because she spent a couple of hours in a gym doing her body building exercises.

How has your Saturday been? Did you go to Field Day? I’ve still got Sore Ear and Black Toe so I’ve not been able to do much at all. Katie’s been doing some excellent nursing of me, including reading the Guardian quiz to me with her outside voice  so that I could hear it and then going to the shop to buy me a Coke Zero and a pack of Leerdammer.

Turns out that tonight is Joe’s Summer party. I say turns out as he’s been so busy with work that he forgot all about it. And as I decided, of this morning, that I’m now a regular gym-goer, the blog hasn’t worked out as planned today.

Still, with gym plans dashed by too many Beck’s (for a Tuesday anyway…) here I am, late this evening wearing my 80′s throwback playsuit from asos, American Apparel socks and Melisssa shoes.

Tomorrow may or may not bring unplanned hangovers for both Joe and me. We’ll let you know.

Katie was our rather late last night on the smash celebrating all the fantastic PR her blog idea got yesterday. She’s a very happy lady.

Living the unglamorous life that we do, we’re speed-dialling the Chinese takeaway in this eve, post-haste. I suggest you do the same.

What Katie Wore Today = ASOS dress, Lazy Oaf shirt and Year Zero heart necklace.

We wandered into a very sweet vintage shop on Cambridge Heath Road called Frockney Rebel on the way back from our Saturday meat run to Victoria Park (Katie’s bags are laden with steak, poussins, veal and pork belly). I really love the sad hipsters painted on the wall outside.

Tonight Katie is going to be cooking one kind of meat stuffed inside another kind of meat, wrapped in a sheet of meet, with meat sprinkles. I’m going to be trying on all of my fresh new garms that I bagged at the D.S. Dundee sample sale in the Cat & Mutton.

KM wears a blue mac from ASOS, a Ganni dress with a wee birdie on it and excellent Underground Originals boots.

K&J are suffering after an impromptu party last night ruined their day today. So, to make everything alright, they’re ordering crispy seaweed, fluorescent sweet and sour chicken noms, duck in pancakes and some dubious left-field tofu selection. Everything will be much better after our imminent gorge-fest.
