09.11.11Taken When We Got BoxesI'm back from learning about the internets in Athens. It was pretty good, assuming you like the internets. And Greek booze. I like both. This afternoon we've been out getting boxes - time to start packing our stuff up before the big move. We're especially looking forward to buying furniture: does anyone have any recommendations for cool places to look for interesting pieces? Today Katie wears an M&S Limited mini-skirt, vintage blouse and Georgia Rose shoes with massive soles from Sarenza. Have lovely weekends - we're looking at fridge freezers online waiting for X-Factor to start.

09.06.11Taken Pre Dissertation CelebrationsWe're off out to celebrate K's brother Euan handing in his MA dissertation tonight. It should be lots of fun. It also means it's exactly 7 years since I handed in my MA dissertation: A Palaeographic Study of the Autograph Book of Major William Fairfax, 1621. When I first interviewed for the role of pianist at Le Maison de Tolérance, they didn't feel they needed an educated man. They couldn't have been more wrong. 08.26.11Taken Back In The Kingdom Of FifeGreat news! Work phones are switched off. Out Of Office replies are switched on. And we're in the Kingdom of Fife visiting Katie's fam for the Bank Hols. And our weekend could not have started better. So far we've lunched at the fantastic Ondine in Edinburgh, eaten lemon cake in Stockbridge made by a heavily preggers Anne-France De Castelbajac Anderson whose wedding we went to two years ago, bought some new shoes in Harvey Nics and maybe taken a little wine along the way. She's in an ASOS kaftan, Oasis jeans, Swedish Hasbeens from Sarenza and very awesome lulz socks from Rampant Sporting. In other news, I've got a new blog innit. The nice people of that Huffington Post asked me to think of something sombre and serious to comment upon for their esteemed organ. And so naturally, I'm writing a regular restaurant review that critiques what people wear in eating establishments rather than what they consume. I keep getting the most bizarre emails off the back of yesterday's Guardian piece - some guy essentially just "came out" to me via email in the most unusual and possibly threatening way. I might look him up on Grindr - he's probably a nice guy. Anyway, aren't Katie's shoes rather awesome? They're from Sarenza. The mac is from ASOS, the necklace is Jessica Dance necklace and the tights are Red or Dead. Catch you tomorrow.

08.05.11Taken When Joe Was IllHere's the missus auditioning for a Scottish Widows advert, except where the widow never really liked the guy that much and is spending her newfound freedom spending. I'm major ill with Sore Ear. I've also got Black Toe (dropped a beer bottle on my foot the other night). 07.31.11Taken At Saint Johns HouseYesterday was a totes amazing wedding. And we're not even hungover. Which, considering the sheer volume of champagne and gin we managed to imbibe last night, is nothing short of miraculous. We reckon it might have something to do with the amazing bed and brilliant breakfast we got at Saint Johns House. If you've ever cause to be in Staffordshire, you should definitely pay a visit - easily the best breakfast I've had outside of Charlestown. Katie wears a dress from Paper Dress Vintage and Cosmoparis sandals from Sarenza - comfy clothes for driving boyfriends back to London.
