Good evening everyone, it’s me – Joe’s away from London on business so I’m home alone. But not for long; I’m up at the crack of dawn to go meet him in Rome for the weekend! I can’t wait!!

Still, it’s been nice to potter about the house tonight. I’ve had a lovely evening cooking a Nigel Slater veggie treat and flicking through housie magazines getting ideas for decorating. Now time to finish packing and get an early night before my flight. Today I’m wearing an asos floral jumper, vintage dress, orange Tabio tights and Kurt Geiger shoes.

It’s the second day of the M&S blogger challenge, and feeling an awful lot less shivery & full of the cold, I’ve gone colour-match OCD with this Limited Collection silk dress. Isn’t the orange, electric blue and grey combo lovely? Couldn’t resist layering tops, belt & necklace to pick out each bold stripe in the skirt.

To match my M&S dress, I’m wearing Tabio tights, a Jessica Dance necklace, Calvin Klein booties and a See by Chloe puff-sleeve top.

First of yesterday’s questions…the size of my wardrobe. It’s honestly nowhere near as big as you’d think! After mastering making use of every teeny weeny inch of space with storage boxes, micro-thin hangers & additional shelves it’s like a TARDIS. Maybe one of these days Joe will agree to take a picture in front of it…

We’re off out to celebrate K’s brother Euan handing in his MA dissertation tonight. It should be lots of fun. It also means it’s exactly 7 years since I handed in my MA dissertation: A Palaeographic Study of the Autograph Book of Major William Fairfax, 1621. When I first interviewed for the role of pianist at Le Maison de Tolérance, they didn’t feel they needed an educated man. They couldn’t have been more wrong. In fact, rarely a day passes where I don’t employ my knowledge of Renaissance manuscript culture to further my employer’s business interests.

Anyway, today’s outfit is largely based around Katie’s beautiful new red lace dress from the M&S Autograph Collection (she found it behind Le Maison de Tolérance). The necklace is Mawi, the tights are Tabio and the boots are Hunter, from Sarenza.

K&J are suffering after an impromptu party last night ruined their day today. So, to make everything alright, they’re ordering crispy seaweed, fluorescent sweet and sour chicken noms, duck in pancakes and some dubious left-field tofu selection. Everything will be much better after our imminent gorge-fest.

I’m still surprised at just how 80s Katie looks. Here she is recreating that famous Siouxsie (sans Banshees) shot with her tour rider of sweeties, taken by David Bailey for The Face or something.

Instead of cheering myself up by jumping on the desk (and then trying but failing to make a decent animated gif to show me jumping), I should be winging my way over to the launch of Swatch’s new collaboration with Rankin (who long-time blog readers will remember took my pic way back in 2009).

Sadly, the day job has once again got in the way of blog-related excitement…

So in lieu of stories about the launch party and the limited edition watches (see them here), here I am in Mother wearing Tabio leggings, a sunshine yellow tutu and vintage necklace from Chic & Unique.

Today’s pic was taken early in the AM, outside the excellent gallery/furniture shop 2 Columbia Road – look, you can just make out my tired and dishevelled face reflected in the glass. Busy day today but I’m totally winning at it. I might even go for another run this evening. It turns out, I’m massively into running. I’m also massively into messing up my agency’s internets with my peer-to-peer file sharing software. IT aren’t very happy with me.

Katie wears a mohair cardigan from 123 Bethnal Green Road, a vintage dress from Vintage Resource Studio, Tabio tights, and incredibly brilliant sample shoes from Lola Ramona. Must dash – I reckon teh internetz are about to crash again.

Here’s some free advertising for Mr Brillo. Katie’s mum is visiting tomorrow and so the house needs to be thoroughly cleaned; a number of items need to be incinerated; and a couple of the more severe infestations need to be fumigated.

Katie’s unconventional cleaning outfit consists of Topshop harem pants, Tabio legwarmers, vintage sweatshirt dress thing from 123 and a pair of Marigolds. I’m popping out to the pub to leave her to it (I feel like I’m only getting in the way).
